On 7th of March in the earliest morning hours our party internationalist combatant Ivana Hoffmann (Avaşin Tekoşin Güneş) became immortal fighting the fascist IS gangs.

Thousands and thousands reminded our immortal comrade Avaşin on a military ceremony in Rojava and during her repatriation in Turkey. Accompanied by her mother and a delegation of communist women she was brought back to Germany, where a commemoration march and her funeral took place on 14th of March.

The demonstration was led by the coffin of our comrade guided at both sides by young women of KGÖ and family members. It was followed by the standards of the present Turkish, Kurdish and international communist and revolutionary movement and family members of other martyrs of our party with their pictures.

The rest of the demonstration consisted of a giant sea of red flags, that showed our party's fallen comrades in Rojava. Dozens of banners reminded our comrade Avaşin and made a call for taking her place and following her path. Besides our party organizations as TKP/ML, MKP , organizations of the Kurdish liberation movement, Communist Construction, MLPD, the 3A alliance, Aveg-Kon, Partizan, parts of the German radical left and many friends and acquaintances of Avaşin participated in the demonstration.

The demonstration marched Duisburg's streets several hours until it got to the cemetery. During the demonstration combative slogans were shout continuously in German, Turkish and Kurdish language. This way the demonstration became an unmistakable call to solidarize with Rojava, to join the struggle and to carry on with it. Slogans as 'Ivana Hoffmann took heart – our mourning turns into wrath', 'Resistance has a name – Ivana Hoffmann' and 'Sehit namirin' echoed for several hours in the streets of Duisburg.

With a big banner saying 'Ivana is immortal!' and pyrotechnics mummed militia of KGÖ greeted the demonstration. The whole route was covered with posters showing a picture of our comrade Avaşin and militants of MLKP and TKP/ML had sprayed slogans called for joining the International brigades in Rojava and greeted the fifth congress of MLKP.

At the cemetery a commemoration manifestation was realized, in which speeches of MLKP-KKÖ (Communist Women Organization of MLKP), TKP/ML, Partido Marxista-Leninista (Reconstrucción Comunista) from Spain, MLPD, Kommunistischer Aufbau from Germany were delivered. Furthermore the co-chairlady of HDP , Figen Yüksekdağ, and the co-chairman of PYD, Salih Muslim, spoke. The latter stressed in his speech: 'I greet comrade Ivana, a valuable comrade of Kurdistan. Today we bury our comrade Ivana, this is why our sorrow is such deep. We are all comrades of Ivana. The fallen show the fight in Kobane and Rojava has an international character.'

Afterwards the coffin was carried to the grave by women of MLKP and KGÖ and the hymn of KGÖ 'Komsomol' was sung in Turkish. Avaşin was buried within the family circle and the presence of some of her comrades.

At her grave the International was sung in different languages and her comrades vowed to carry on with her struggle; because her dreams are our dreams, her path is our path and her commemoration is our dignity.

Our comrade now lies next to many fallen of the Soviet Red Army who were deported to Germany and murdered as prisoners of war.
