On September 10, the trial against 44 journalists, who have been detained in December 2011 within the scope of the so called KCK (Kurdish Communities Union) operation and of which 36 are in detention since then, continued.{divide}
On the third day of the trial, the anniversary of the fascist military coup of 1980, the journalists protested against the policy of annihilation and negation of the court board neglecting them their self-defence in the mother tongue Kurdish by sticking down their mouths with black band. The lawyers left the hearing room protesting also against the refusal of the court to accept speeches in Kurdish language.
The trial which was supposed to last four days on 10-14 September was arbitrarily cancelled and postponed to 12 November.
