On the 40th anniversary of their execution, the "Three Carnations", Deniz Gezmis, Huseyin Inan and Yusuf Aslan, founding leaders of THKO , and among the leaders of the students' movement of 1968, were commemorated by thousands of people in Ankara on May 6. The participation at the commemorative action was higher than the past years.
The action took place at the grave of the martyrs in the Karsiyaka Cemetery. Various revolutionary organisations as well as several democratic mass organisations and progressive parties were present at the commemoration, where it was stated that the struggle against imperialism, and at the first place against US imperialism and its war organisation NATO, continues all over the world since 1968 and it will continue until the victory. The participants promised revolution to the Three Carnations.
Deniz Gezmis, Huseyin Inan and Yusuf Aslan were commemorated in other cities, too, among them Malatya, Eskisehir, Istanbul and Antep.
