The Newroz day was celebrated in several European countries, too.
The biggest celebration took place in Bonn, Germany, where 80 thousand Kurdish people coming from all parts of Germany and several revolutionary organisations, among them our party MLCP, gathered on March 24 to celebrate the Newroz day and protest the Turkish colonialist fascist state's attacks on the demonstrations in Istanbul and Amed (Diyarbakir). The main slogan of the rally was "Freedom for Ocalan, status for Kurdistan". {divide}
This has been the biggest Newroz celebrations of the past 10 years in Europe. BDP co-president Gulten Kisanak was also present in the rally, while a video speech of the president of the Executive Council of KCK Murat Karayilan was also projected. Kisanak told the following in her speech: "There is only one interlocutor, which is Esteemed Abdullah Ocalan. Everybody should know that. For us, the Kurdish question can be solved only by a negotiation with Abdullah Ocalan. AKP will have to negotiate with Ocalan". Murat Karayilan stressed that a new process has started in Kurdistan together with the Newroz 2012 celebrations and he greeted the Kurds who enthusiastically celebrated the Newroz day despite all the repression and violence launched by the Turkish state.
There has been local celebrations in several other cities of Germany, too, among them Cologne, Berlin, Nurnberg and Stuttgart.
In London, 8 thousand people celebrated the Newroz day through a festival in Finsbury Park.
In Paris, ten thousand Kurds gathered at the Bastille Square and marched towards the Stalingrad Square with Kurdish flags, posters of the Kurdish national leader Ocalan and with torches on March 21.
In Bern, Switzerland, and in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, marches with torches with the participation of hundreds of people were made.
