In the Derbent Neighbourhood of Sariyer district in Istanbul, more than 30 people have been arrested by the police on March 13 through house raids starting at 5.00 a.m. The police forces including the Special Operation Forces circled the neighbourhood during the operations. {divide}
The police claim that the labourers have threatened some house owners who tried to sell their houses to the construction companies.
The arrested labourers, among them the spokesperson of the Coordination for the Right To Accommodation Koksal Dogan, the president of the Assotiation of Derbent Neighbourhood Riz Coskun and the president of the cooperative of the neighbourhood Aydemir Gormez are accused with "having violated the privacy of residence" and "being members and leaders of a terrorist organisation".
