In the 9 years of AKP government, the total number of prisoners in 418 prisons has raised 114% from 59,428 to 127,831 in 2011. The only conclusion drawn from that by the colonialist fascist state is to build more prisons. Among these prisoners, 2221 are children. Furthermore, 78 prisoners are older than 80 years. This policy of mass imprisonment, especially of Kurdish people, still continues and the number of prisoners is still growing. On February 1, again 3 children have been sent to prison after a police raid in Nusaybin, Mardin.
