The Socialist Party of the Oppressed ( ESP ) made actions in Ankara and Istanbul on January 23 for solidarity with the Red Aid activists from Belgium, who are persecuted for their work in solidarity with the political prisoners.{divide}
In Istanbul, ESP members gathered in front of the Belgian Embassy under the slogan "You can't judge the Red Aid!" and they made a statement informing about the course of the trial that will be concluded on January 25. They condemned the wave of arrest against the Italian revolutionaries on February 12, 2007 and explained that this has been an operation of Berlusconi against the socialist opposition. They informed that the persecution and arrest against 6 activists of Red Aid Belgium on June 5, 2008 was developed on the proceeding against the Italian revolutionaries. They also condemned the black campaign against the former political prisoner Bertrand Sassoye by the bourgeois media. They presented a file about their position to the embassy and called the Belgian authorities to stop the political complot and drop the case against the Belgian Red Aid activists.
In Ankara, ESP members made an action in front of the Belgian Embassy and expressed international solidarity with the Red Aid activists.
