The people of Bagbasi near Tortum district of Erzurum stopped the construction machines on September 26 to hinder the construction of a hydroelectric power plant in the region. The police and the gendarmerie forces attacked the villagers with tear gas. The resistance of the villagers stopped the construction work and the state forces withdrew from the village.
