Human rights defenders took to the streets against the AKP government's war on Kurdistan. On August 24, IHD leaders and members made a sit-in action in Taksim in Istanbul, demanding that the AKP government should immediately stop the military operations and bombings in Kurdistan. In their statement, they told that the Turkish government pretends to intervene in Syria and Libya but continues with the war on the Federal Kurdistan Region. They said that the real solution passes from negotiations and dialog in the political field.
