It is not for nothing that people are in a search and that socialism as alternative to capitalism is voiced more and more. Life itself shows that socialism is inevitable.

For the last 5 to 10 years one of the most raised slogans at international level is "another world is possible". And this other world refers to socialism. Moreover, also the current economic crisis has increased the searches of the people for alternatives. The economic crisis, which is ruining world economy, has proved once more that capitalism has nothing to give to humanity. All over the world the working class and the labouring masses are seeing that capitalism is the source of unemployment and poverty; meanwhile on one hand trillions are concentrated in the hands of a handful of international monopolies, billions of people are forced to make their living with 1-2 dollars a day on the other hand. Capitalism means hunger and misery.
Aside from the consequences of the economic crisis, millions of workers are thrown to the streets worldwide due to the developing technology and its use in production. Today's capitalism means chronicle mass unemployment.
The economic stimulus packages prepared under the pretext of overcoming the crisis and the trillions of dollars spent for them did not have any result; economy did not come out of the crisis. However, in many countries, first of all the USA, collapsing banks and factories have been saved nationalizing them and the working class and the labouring masses have to carry the burden. Meanwhile the capitalist state has saved its capital, depths and expenses have been nationalized.
The conditions of the crisis have shown that the sayings "globalisation means democracy, work and peace" going on since 15 to 20 years are nothing but crude demagogy. Especially the current economic crisis has shown the degree of deepness and extend the contradictions between the imperialist countries have reached. The working class and the labouring masses all over the world can see, that capitalism does not mean peace but war, that it does not mean democracy but reaction and occupation. Capitalism cannot give anything to humanity anymore in any sphere of life. It is not for nothing that people are in a search and that socialism as alternative to capitalism is voiced more and more. Life itself shows that socialism is inevitable. But of course it would be wrong to draw the conclusion from this fact that capitalism will break down by itself and that socialism will be constructed by itself instead of it.
Solely by the class-conscious acting of the working class and its allies capitalism can be overthrown by revolution and socialism constructed in its place. The attempt of the Paris Commune and the October Revolution in 1917 have shown that socialism is not only a theoretic idea, a dream but something possible to carry out in practice. Also the successful construction of socialism in the Soviet Union in the time of Lenin and Stalin has shown this clearly.
What does make socialism the alternative to capitalism?
First of all socialism, contrary to capitalism, which is built on the private property of means of production and is the expression of exploitation and plunder, is a higher stage in terms of historical development; the termination of private property of means of production and the transition to social property, to socialist (social) property excluding exploitation.
Socialism means social (socialist) property of means of production and sharing of the products produced for the welfare of the society.
Capitalism is the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie, reaction, oppression of the working class and the labouring masses, restriction of the freedom of opinion, lack or restriction of practice of democratic rights. Capitalism means at the most democracy for the bourgeois class.
Socialism is the dictatorship of the proletariat, democracy for the broadest stratums of the people: for the working class and the labouring masses and oppression of the bourgeois, reactionaries and counterrevolutionaries removed from power.
Capitalism means exploitation of labour force, to buy and sell it without paying properly what has been done. In Socialism labour force is not sold and bought, it is no commodity and paid according to what has been done. In socialism there is no exploitation.
Capitalism condemns society to bourgeois culture and ignorance; the bourgeoisie teaches only what is useful to her class interests. In contrary to that socialism is a revolution of culture and information continuing in all sphere of social life. Socialism can only be constructed with the "new human being", in this sense socialism is the society bringing up the new human being.
