Ibrahim Kaypakkaya , one of the revolutionary leaders of 1971, was conmemorated at his grave in the village Karakaya in Corum on the 37th anniversary of the week when he was killed under torture in Diyarbakir Prison on May 18, 1973.

The conmemorative action was organised by many proggressive and revolutionary organisations, among them DHF , Devrimci Hareket, Partizan, DYG, EHP , ESP , IHD , Alinteri, BDP and SDP and was participated also by the relatives of Kaypakkaya. The place of Kaypakkaya in the revolutionary movement of Turkey was stressed in the speeches. Ferhat Kurtay, Esref Anyik, mahmut Zengin and Necmi Onen who had fired their bodies to protest the colonialist oppression in Diyarbakir Prison and haki Karer, one of the leaders of the Kurdish national liberation movement were also conmemorated at the action.
