Greece is shaken by the national debt crisis in the context of the economic crisis shaking the whole world. Meanwhile the national economy is drifting towards bankruptcy, the IMF and the EU imperialists are trying to save the economy of Greece, and by that the European currency and finally the monopolies, which are endangered due to the national debt of Greece, with people enemy policies.
The Greek people rebelled against this bitter medicine package of poverty. The rebellion against the Greek bourgeoisie, which is trying to make the working class and the labourers pay for their crisis and their bankruptcy with help of the IMF and the EU, is growing.
The fact that the economy of Greece came to the verge of bankruptcy is showing that the crisis is continuing being reflected in the enormously fast rise of national debt and that the efforts of the bourgeoisie to put into everybody's head that the world economic crisis is over are empty words. The rapidly increasing external debt, which brought Greece to the threshold of bankruptcy and is strangling with deep anxiety the world bourgeoisie, first of all imperialists of the euro zone like Germany and France, is knocking already at the door of other bourgeois states, Portugal and Spain to be named first, as element of the crisis.
The bitter medicine of the EU and the IMF means misery, impoverishment and cuts of social rights for the Greek workers and labourers. The Greece rescue package will of course not be paid by the EU and IMF imperialists, but by the Greek labourers. The EU and the IMF are trying to save the Euro zone from the risky situation by paying penny by penny in the hand of the Greek bourgeoisie what they have stolen from the Greek labourers. The rescue package was adopted as a countermove to the preparation of the hardest, most people enemy social destruction programme since the Greek dictatorship. According to this, the rescue package of 110 milliards Euro will cost the Greek labourers rise of retirement age, freezing of the salaries, big rises of specially indirect taxes and due to this high price-increases in food and basic goods.
The Greek Prime Minister Yorgo Papandreu demands, like the bourgeoisie does together with every destruction package, "that Greece will have to make big sacrifices". Of course it is not the masters of the capitalist order, with its laws of greed for maximum profit and competition without mercy, who are essentially responsible for the crisis, who are expected to make sacrifices in order to save their economy from bankruptcy, it is demanded from the workers and labourers.
However, the Greek workers and labourers have not the intention to tacitly pay the bill of the crisis. Especially during the last week, Greece is shaken by a big rage and rebellion of the labourers. This resistance of the workers and labourers is continuing determinedly despite a being exposed to a heavy wave of repression by the Greek state. The efforts of the Greek bourgeoisie to eliminate the legitimacy of the resistance using the tragic incident of three bank employees, who came to death in a bank targeted by the rage of the actions of the workers and labourers, are in vain. Meanwhile Greece was paralyzed by strikes against the package of social destruction; hundreds of thousands are condemning this package on the streets.
The danger of bankruptcy and the program of social destruction, but most of all the resistance against these, also caused some shake-ups in the front of the parties of the bourgeois order. The bourgeois MPs who voted against the package have been expelled from PASOK.
During the adoption of the package in parliament, thousands gathered at the Syntagma square protesting by shouting "thieves" against the government, which is stealing from the pockets of the labourers in order to put it into the pockets of the bankrupting bourgeoisie. The shouting of the workers and labourers that "our struggle did neither lose its legitimacy with the death of the three bank employees neither will stop with the adoption of the destruction package" is promising that the hard days for the Greek bourgeoisie are still not over.
Like the bankruptcy experienced in Greece is not limited with Greece, also the resistance of the Greek people, workers, labourers and oppressed is not limited with Greece. The social demolition occurring in Greece is part of the world economic crisis. The social destruction program the Greek working class and labourers are confronted with is also threatening the workers and labourers of other countries.
With their resistance against the Greek bourgeoisie, which tries to make them pay the bill of the crisis, the Greek workers and labourers are resisting against the world bourgeoisie in the name of all workers and labourers of the world. Therefore, our party MLCP is calling upon all the workers and labourers and their revolutionary and communist vanguards of the world and first of all of the Balkans, to raise solidarity with the growing resistance in Greece, to embrace, defend and spread it. To unite the resistance of the workers and labourers against the crisis of the bourgeoisie will also be the ground of a fraternization of the Balkan peoples, which were made massacring each others with the provocations of the ruling class for hundreds of years. Now it is time to light the fire of the streets of Athens everywhere against capitalist barbarity, for resistance and solidarity!
