One more political prisoner lost his life in prison

Mehmet Kilinc, who was detained in the F Type Prison No 2 Kiriklar Izmir, lost his life. After having a cerebral haemorrhage on April 3, he was only admitted to the intensive care unit of the Yesilyurt Education and Investigation Hospital on April 5. {divide}It is still unknown how and why Kilinc suffered a cerebral haemorrhage in the cell where he was imprisoned. Like they already did after many massacres and attempted massacres, the prison administration claimed afterwards that Kilinc tried to commit suicide. The soldiers gave contradictory information like Mehmet Kilinc tried to kill himself by hitting its head against the wall and he hit his head by falling down the stairs.
Kilinc was 36 years old. He was detained in 2005, when he was Provincial President of the DTP in Usak and he was put into prison due to the accusation of militancy in the PKK . Six months were left to serve his sentence.
In the prisons of the colonialist fascist dictatorship, where hundreds of political prisoners have been assassinated in open and secret massacres, there are also many ill prisoners. Erol Zavar, Umit Ilter, Mehmet Yesiltepe, Ufuk Keskin and many prisoners more are still in prison in spite of very serious illnesses like cancer and diabetes. Moreover, conditions of necessary medical treatment are not guaranteed but they are exposed to arbitrary sanctions and repression by the administrations of the prisons. Last year, the political campaign freedom for Guler Zere, a former political prisoner suffering from cancer, has been successful and she was released from prison.
In 2009, 24 political prisoners lost their life in prison and hundreds of physical attacks and violations of rights occurred.
