None of the 10 September prisoners was released in the trial on November 6 at the 10th Heavy Penalty Court at Besiktas, Istanbul. At the hearing, the 13 communists, of whom 15 are behind bars and were shouting the slogans "Hope is standing tall" and "Stop the denial. Democratic peace to the Kurdish nation" when entering the court, again exposed the deceit of the trial and made speeches on the political developments. {divide}
The prisoner Ali Hidir Polat started his speech by greeting the Kent A.S. workers marching to Ankara and the students who went on the streets for their democratic rights on education. Polat drew attention to the fear that the police had created through the fascist coup of September 12, 1980 on society. The prisoner Ziya Ulusoy stressed the situation of the sick prisoners. In his speech, he demanded the immediate release of those prisoners who are having severe health problems such as Guler Zere and Erol Zavar. Ulusoy exposed the police massacres saying that in the last two years, more than 50 people were killed by the police who hasn't been convicted. The next hearing will be on March 26, 2010.
