On the morning of September 8 following the order of the 11th Heavy Penalty Court of Ankara, 24 socialists of the ESP , EKD , SGD , Democrat Radio, BEKSAV , Limter-Is and Textil-Sen were arrested in the raids carried out in 8 different cities at the same time accused of having participated in the funeral of the communist intellectual Kutsiye Bozoklar in Ankara. {divide}

The raids had been carried out by policemen masked and heavily armed and affiliated to the Anti-terror Unit. The houses and offices raided were totally destroyed. Hard disks, legal newspapers and books were confiscated. The police hindered the arrested to call their lawyers. The 24 arrested who also had been issued an arrest warrant were taken to Ankara. The socialists were allowed to meet their lawyers in the evening and were taken to court on September 11. 13 of the 24 arrested were decided to be imprisoned, 11 out of them were released.
Another detention arrest was carried out against Atilim newspaper. 10 socialists, among them Atilim journalists Tuncay Mat and Cagdas Kucukbattal, were arrested accused to have joined the actions against the wireless stations in the Istanbul quarter Gazi . It was claimed that bombs had been produced in the houses that were raided and that the arrested were bombardiers.
The attacks and arrests were protested in Turkey and Europe. In different quarters of Istanbul, in Ankara, in different cities of Kurdistan and Europe actions were organised in solidarity with the arrested socialists and the release of them demanded.
Besides, the 11th Heavy Penalty Court of Istanbul decided to ban Atilim newspaper for one month as the newspaper published the statments of the 4th Congress of our party MLCP and the 15th year of foundation.
