The truth on the forces disappeared coming on the agenda through Ergenekon has made the Saturday Mothers became active again. After many years the relatives of the disappeared realised their first sit-ins on January 31 in first of all Istanbul and Amed and demanded the places to be announced where the disappeared had been buried. {divide}
The mass of relatives of disappeared gathering in front of the Galatasaray High School at Istanbul following the call of the Commission against Forced Disappearances under Arrest of the IHD 's Istanbul Branch demanded the conviction of those responsible for forced disappearances.
In Amed, the sit-in called on by the IHD again and organised at Kosuyolu Park was supported by different organisations, among them the ESP and DTP . In the statement the assistant general president of the IHD made in the name of the mass, the crimes of Ergenekon in Kurdistan were explained as well as the information demanded on all extra-judicial killings and excavations to be started whereever the disappeared had been buried. In the statement it was at the same time mentioned that as the IHD all branches will organise sit-ins every Saturday together with the families of the reltives. The relatives of the disappeared shouted the slogans "The murderers must be found, an account must be demanded" and carried posters on which their demand such as "Where are the graves" were written.
