The workers of the factory Asil Celik in the district Orhangazi in Bursa protested against the unpaid leave imposed by the boss since November 14 under the pretext of the economic crisis. On November 20, the workers affiliated to the trade-union Birlesik Metal-Is started a two day march from the factory to the Regional Directorate of Labour in Bursa. The bosses not only try to make the workers and labourers pay the bill of the crisis but also impose unpaid leaves on the workers organised in trade-unions and moreover they threat them with being laid off.{divide}
The 400 workers with gathered in front of the factory said during their action: "those, who are responsible for it should pay the bill of the crisis". The secretary-general of the trade-union Birlesik Metal-Is Selcuk Goktas highlighted in his speech that the collective wage negotiations are continuing and they are waiting for the report of wage arbitration and that the boss of Asil Celik obliges the workers to take unpaid leaves in order to impede the increase of the wages under the pretext of the economic crisis. Goktas demanded immediate measures to be taken instead of make the workers suffer from the crisis. Not only the workers in annual leave but those of all shifts supported the action.
