On November 12 the platform of branches of DISK and Turk-Is organised a protest march in Istanbul against the enormous price increases from the metro station Topkapi to the state-owned gas company IGDAS and said "We are not responsible for the crisis, we won't pay the bill". {divide}
Approximately 750 workers took part in the demonstration against the economic policy of the AKP government and shouted slogans like "The bill of the crisis belongs to the bosses" and "Take back the price increase of natural gas". They hold a meeting in front of the IGDAS building. In the speeches it was reminded that since the beginning of 2008 until today the price for natural gas increased 82% and for electricity 52% meanwhile the salaries of the workers and labouring employees were only increased 4%, maximal 6%. Furthermore, they called for a mass participation from all provinces in the meeting, which will be organised by the trade-unions on November 29 in Ankara.
The workers in resistance of Unilever and Capa cleanup as well as Genc-Sen and democratic organisations supported the actions with their participation.
