The prime minister who had gone to Kurdistan to make propaganda had been saluted with protests in Amed and Dersim before. At the weekend Erdohan went to Van, Yuksekova and Hakkari where he again had been welcomed with protests. In these Kurdish cities whose people had announced before that they don't want Erdogan in their cities, Erdogan was welcomed with actions on the streets and clashes with the police. {divide}Shops were closed, vehicles stopped and garbage not picked up. The people went on the streets lighteing fires and putting up barricades to continue with their protests. Raids on the houses of DTP activists and the arrest of many of them and the DTP leaders did not serve to prevent the protests. Banners and slogans saying„Erdogan, go away from Kurdistan" attracted a lot of attention. In Van, Erdogan was not able to enter the city centre. The police opened the fire on the mass assailing to the place where Erdogan was holding his speech and stopped them. In Hakkari the police shot 1 person who was heavily injured. With these protests coming after the serhildan s, the Kurdish people showed that the representatives of colonialism can't walk around in Kurdistan as they want.
