5000 people gathered for an action at Izmir despite all bans

The rally "For the brotherhood of the people and democracy against nationalism, racism and militarism" that had been planned by 18 organisations, among them the DTP , ESP , SDP and Human Rights Association, to be organised on October 26 at Izmir was banned before by the governorship. The democratic organisations that wanted to organise the rally made an action on October 25 protesting against the ban and announcing to organise a mass action on October 26. The police that after this announcement turned really furiously imposed terror in the city and tried to hinder the participation in the action.{divide}
Despite that, 5000 people gathered at Konak, Izmir on October 26 and protested against the bans and oppressions objecting the oppression and attacks on the Kurdish people and the imprisoned PKK leader Ocalan and demanding a solution to the Kurdish question.
At the action the DTP, SDP and ESP opened flags and the mass shouted slogans such as "Equality, brotherhood, freedom to the Kurdish nation", "the PKK is the people and the people are here", "Long live the revolutionary solidarity" and "Murderer Erdogan".
The mass that dispersed after the action was attacked by the police, and many people were arrested. The police marched around in Izmir and continued to terrorise the city.
