The chauvinist provocations by the fascist dictatorship merged with the attacks on the female PKK prisoners. On October 17-18, the female PKK prisoners imprisoned at Gebze M Type Prison were attacked with choppers and knifes by soldiers and male criminal prisoners agitated by them and were sexually assaulted and insulted.{divide}
On October 23, the EKD organised an action at Kartal Square raising the solidarity with the female political prisoners and asking the Minister of Justice and the prison administration to render account. During the action the EKD activists carried the banner "The female political prisoners are not alone" and declared that these attacks have been the sequel to the lynch provocations that continue throughout the whole country, and that the state showed its militarist and lynch-provoking face once more at Gebze Prison. The EKD also explained in its statement that there has been a rise in assaulting and raping politically active women. The EKD called on the Turkish labourer women to raise the brotherhood with the Kurdish people.
Women's organisations organised an action on October 24 in order to protest against the attacks and made a report at Sultanahmet judicial court. In their statement the women of DOKH, EKD, EHP and other women's organisations said that the criminal prisoners could comfortably walk around with knifes in their hands in a high-security prison because of the prison administration. The families of the female prisoners having been attacked explained their qualms by saying that there is no guarantee for their children's life not to be in danger.
