The trial started in 1997 because of the murder of 7 progressive students killed during a bomb attack in front of Istanbul University organized by fascists in 1978 was dismissed by the 6th Heavy Penalty Court with the only reason to have exceeded the limitation period. The 7 students who had faced an armed attack with bombs on March 16, 1978 when leaving the faculty of pharmacy located at Beyazit Campus were killed and 41 students injured. The first trial that had started in 1978 had ended with the acquittal of all murderers.
