The ESP finished its 5 days search for justice

On September 23, the activists of the ESP set off for justice with bicycles and stopped on September 25 in Gulsuyu, Istanbul. There, at a press meeting at the Heykel square, Figen Yuksekdag, representative of the ESP, invited the people of the district Gulsuyu, who are known for their revolutionary struggle, to participate in the struggle for justice and said that real justice can only by realized by the people. On September 26, the activists of the ESP reached the quarter 1 Mayis in Umraniye, Istanbul and drew attention to a house in the Cakmak quarter, where activities of the counter-guerrilla came out. At the press meeting made in 1 Mayis, which has a history full of resistance, attention was directed to the fact that when people protested against the massacre in Gazi , Istanbul committed in 1995, the police shot at the people and assassinated 5 persons; however the guilty persons are not convicted until today. At the meeting also relatives of the martyrs took the floor stating that they have to create their own tribunals in order to get justice for the massacres organised by the counter-guerrilla. The meeting continued with a minute of silence at the place, where the 5 people were assassinated and finally they gathered in front of the house, which had turned out to be a munitions depot of the Ergenekon gang.{divide}
On September 27, the activists of the ESP reached with their bicycles the next stop; the Yogurtcu Park in Kadikoy, where they demanded justice for the 3 workers, who have been murdered during the big workers resistance in June 15-16, 1970 by the counter-guerrilla. The representative of the ESP, Figen Yuksekdag, pointed out that they demand to clear the massacres of workers in the history and to finally convict the offenders. Afterwards, the activists of the ESP went to Sogutlucesme and put down some flowers at the place, where Hasan Albayrak was assassinated during the Mayday demonstration of 1996 and shouted slogans like: "Hasan Albayrak is immortal" and "We will drown fascism in the blood it shed". In the speech delivered there it was underlined, that in the trial about the assassination of Suleyman Yeter as well as in the case of Hasan Albayrak, the murders were not convicted. In the evening of September 27, those searching for justice reached the district of Gazi, Istanbul, where they reminded the massacre committed there in 1995 by the counter-guerrilla and visited the graves of Ridvan Karakoc and Hasan Ocak, who led the uprising of Gazi and thereafter was kidnapped and disappeared. They reminded the raid of a café and the massacre committed there, which resulted in the uprising of Gazi and stated that they will never forget all these massacres.
The 210 km trip for justice of the ESP also stopped at the following stations: in front of the newspaper Ozgur Ulke, that was bombed in 1994 and where the journalist Ersin Yildiz was killed, at the square of Beyazit in front of the university, where 7 students have been killed on March 16, 1978, at the Taksim square, where a massacre of workers took place on Mayday 1977 and finally in front of the newspaper Agos, where the Armenian journalist and intellectual Hrant Dink has been assassinated. In the speeches made in these places it was underlined that all these places bear traces of the counter-guerrilla massacre and that the struggle will continue until justice is accomplished.
In her speech in front of the newspaper Agos, Figen Yuksekdag stated that they pedalled for 5 days on their bicycles for justice, that they will not forget all that, what the regime want to make us forget, that they will never stop seeking for justice for the assassinations and massacres. She announced that they finished their bicycle actions there, but that they will take their demands of justice to the Ergenekon trial, which will start on October 20 in Silivri and organise a March of Justice from Susurluk to Silivri before the trial.
