On August 9, the International Committee against Disappearances ( ICAD ) made a sit-in at the Galatasaray square saying "clearing up the 1000 secret operations, judge the ones who let disappear from Susurluk to Ergenekon". The relatives of the disappeared of ICAD met once more at the Saturday action stating that they want to intervene in the trials opened after the Ergenekon operations carried out by the state against a certain part of the counter-guerrilla organisations. In the speech made by the sister of the disappeared Hasan Ocak, Maside Ocak it was underlined that crimes like the extralegal executions committed in the West and in the Kurdish provinces, the attacks of disappearance, burning down the villages and other crimes of the dirty war are not included in the indictment of the Ergenekon trial and that the counter-guerrilla is a special policy of the state. In the statement it was also said that forced disappearance is a special method of the counter-guerrilla and it was demanded to clear up the 1000 secret operations, to open the mass graves and to smash the counter-guerrilla and to judge the Putschist generals like it happened in Chile and Argentina.
