On July 27, the Labour Peoples Coordination against House Demolition organised a conference for the right of housing in Istanbul-Okmeydani.
Labouring people from the following districts participated in the conference: Kurtkoy, Derbent, Aydos, Sulukule, Ayazma, Gulsuyu, Maden Dereici, Guzeltepe, Basibuyuk, Okmeydani, Karanfilkoy and Izmir-Kurucesme. They shared their experiences of struggle at the conference and discussed proposals for future struggles. The Labour Peoples Coordination against House Demolition changed its name into Coordination for the Right of Housing.
In addition to the labouring people from the districts under danger of demolition, also participants of the Istanbul General Medical Council and the TMMOB as well as Cesare Ottavini, representative from Italy of the International Alliance Movement for Housing participated in the conference.
It was announced that the final resolution of the conference will be announced to the public on July 30 at a press conference at the building of the machine engineers of TMMOB.
