The aggression of civil fascist groups against revolutionary, democratic and Kurdish patriotic students at universities takes a higher level.
On the evening of April 4, civil fascists affiliated to the MHP (Party of National Movement) waylaid and threatened 5 Kurdish students at Akdeniz University, Antalya. The anti-fascist students gathered shouting the slogan "Shoulder to shoulder against fascism" and punished the fascist group of 50-60 people. The fascists could only leave school accompanied by police.
On April 6, a group of 200 civil fascists from the "Ulku Ocaklari" (centres of the fascist youth) attacked the democratic students in the student hall which is located at Akdeniz University Campus with knifes and arms. 7 anti-fascist students were injured in the attack. After this, the police started to attack the anti-fascist students who had started a resistance. Many students were arrested.
On April 7 democratic organisations gathered at the entrance of the campus with a banner read "Stop the fascist attacks at the universities" condemning the attack. The organisations, among them the Platform of KESK branches, DTP , DHP, HOC , EMEP and the youth union Genc Sen, reminded that similar attacks had happened before at Bolu, Mersin and Ankara Universities demanded to take precautions against the fascists' attacks, the release of the arrested students and the opening of a trial against those authorities that let the attacks happen.
The Confederation of Revolutionary Workers' Union ( DISK ) made a written statement protesting the attack.
