The Kandil operation of the Turkish Armed Forces was answered by press statements and street actions in different cities. Especially in the bigger towns, the Kurdish youth went on the streets and set cars on fire. Other actions were the bombing of the colonial fascist targets.

The policy of the Turkish state and US imperialism to isolate the Kurdish people, the aggression in Southern Kurdistan, the continuation of the annihilation and denial policy and ultimately, the start of the Kandil operation on December 15, were answered all over Turkey and Northern Kurdistan.
On November 3, ten thousand Turkish and Kurdish labourers gathered in Ankara and raised their voice for the brotherhood of the people and against the chauvinist aggression. The rally on November 3 was followed by the rallied called "Edi Bes e!" organised by the DTP in the Kurdish cities. Ten thousands of Kurds who went on the streets in Batman, Silopi, Hakkari, Van and Amed said "Edi Bes e!" (Kurdish, meaning "Enough is enough!") to the annihilation and denial policy, the military operations and the arrest and detention attacks.
The actions for the brotherhood of the people and against chauvinism were planned to be continued after Kurdistan with a rally in Istanbul on December 9. However, the rally organised by DTP, ESP , EMEP , SDP and EHP was forbidden by Istanbul Governor. The decision to ban the rally showed the fear of the colonial regime to make the Kurdish national movement meet with the Turkish workers and labourers who were poisoned in the West (West means Turkey, tn.) with chauvinism and have been under its control. While the Kurdistan rallies could not be banned because of the fear of the mass movement's power, the rallies that were planned for Istanbul, Izmir and Mersin were banned one after another to prevent the development of a wave of brotherhood against militarism and chauvinism and a peace movement.
The task to organise a rally in practice despite the ban of the rally on December 9 in Istanbul was not fulfilled, but with actions realised in the labourers' quarters by the active militant masses of the Marxist Leninist Communists and Kurdish national forces and mass violence it was tried to give an answer to the ban. Although these actions might have been meaningful, they were not of a quality and quantity enough to put the colonial regime in a difficult situation. After Istanbul, this question could also not be solved in Izmir and Mersin.

Especially in the bigger towns, the Kurdish youth went on the streets and set cars on fire. Other actions were the bombing of the colonial fascist targets. However, the reactions shown against the operation have not yet reached the level to be an answer to the aggression and chauvinist provocations of colonial fascism and to organise mass pressure on it.
We as Marxists Leninist Communists must increase our effort for a front in which Kurdish national forces and all revolutionary and progressive forces participate against chauvinism and militarism. The attitudes taken and movements developed during this period are of vital importance for the fate of the people of our region.
