Tokat Tekel workers who had started actions against the privatisation terror were attacked by the police.
When the workers of the factory Tekel in Tokat got to learn that representatives of the foreign firm that wants to buy the factory came to their workplace on December 21 accompanied by police forces, they gathered in front of the factory from early morning hours and wanted to get in from the main entrance. The police attacked the workers with gas bombs and pepper gas, and the workers blockaded the traffic of the street leading from Tokat to Amasya. This action was also attacked by the police and special team forces.

After the attacks the workers went to the airport as they received the information that the representatives of the private company were about to leave Tokat by plane. At the airport, the workers opened the banner read "We will not let you sell Tekel" and said in a speech: "We have understood that they want war. We will not flee from this war but defend our work, bread and work place. They will see the power of the workers."
