The police of Izmir started a new conspiracy attack against the revolutionaries and communists. The anti-terror unit raided a house at Gazi emir Aktepe quarter of Izmir and arrested Aydin Akyuz and Vahap Bicici on the evening of October 30 and the morning of October 31.
In the late hours of the same day the ESP office in Izmir and the Cultural Centre Yamanlar as well as some houses of ESP activists in the quarters Onur, Camdibi and Guzeltepe were raided by the anti-terror unit. During the raids the police arrested 11 people, among them ESP representative of Izmir Hulya Gercek and the chair of the trade union Tekstil-Sen in Izmir Eylem Akalin.
While the arrests were protested the next day in different cities, 8 of the arrested 10 revolutionaries were decided to be imprisoned by the court on November 3. The detentions were based on the claim that the arrested revolutionaries "had realised bombings in Izmir realised by the MLCP and that "they had supported and contributed to the actions". As the file has been closed for the lawyers, it is still unclear with what they are charged exactly.
The male prisoners were taken to Kiriklar f-type prison while the female prisoners are imprisoned at Buca prison.
