As four shipyard workers died because of so-called "murders of workers" at the work place in the last 10 days, on September 2 the workers and members of the Association for the Union of Shipyard Workers gathered at Taksim, Istanbul and marched from the Emek Cinema to Galatasaray Square. About 150 workers joined the action with the banner "It has been enough, stop the murders". In a speech hold in the name of the workers, the hard working conditions were explained and the Turkish Shipbuilders` Association (GİSBİR) was declared as responsible for the murders as it has never taken any precautions for occupational safety.
Other demands at the action were the application of precautions for the workers health and occupational safety, the pay of salary and insurance rate by the main company, the abolition of hired work as well as an improvement of the working conditions.
