Police attacked HOC demonstration in Ankara

 The members of the "Front for Rights and Freedoms" ( HOC ), who organized an action in the course of the campaign "Elections are no solution, join the struggle for an independent Turkey" in front of TBMM (Turkish Grand National Assembly) on July 16, were brutally attacked by the police. The members of HOC who came from different cities for the protest first hold a sit-in when the police interrupted their demonstration. The action lasted for hours and the police attacked the protesters with pepper gas and truncheons. 154 people were arrested and beaten and 10 people were wounded, two of them were revolutionaries. The attack was protested with an action and press statement on July 17 at Yuksel Street, Ankara. HOC, ESP , Halkevleri , CHD and other revolutionary and democratic organisations condemned the police terror in their speeches and shouted the slogans "The repression can't stop us" and "Release the arrested".
