Police attacked council workers of Manisa

The workers of Salihli Council, Manisa, organized at the trade union Genel-Is, went on strike on June 20 when the negotiations on the collective labour agreement got stuck. The council tried to break the strike by hiring subcontractor workers. When the 255 council workers tried to hinder the subcontractor workers to start working, they were attacked by the police. Four workers were slightly injured and 28 workers were arrested in the attack. Salihli branch of the trade union Genel-is protested against the police attack.
