The Akyil workers in Diyarbakir, who have been on strike for 7 months, occupied the main building of AKP (Party for Justice and Development) in Diyarbakir on June 12. The Akyil workers have been struggling for months for their union rights and against their bosses who are acting on no legal ground. The workers organized a sit-in in the building and declared that their bosses are supported by the AKP government and that the ruling party AKP is responsible, too, for their problems. They declared that they will not leave the building until the problems are solved. The AKP leaders became afraid of the workers' determined stance and said that they will solve the problems in a meeting together with deputies.
