The workers of the company Izelman in Izmir decided to go on strike after the discussions for a collective agreement started in December have become stuck.
On May 23, 1500 Izelman workers gathered in front of Izmir Council for a protest action.
In the press statement read by Saim Geylani, president of the 1st branch of the trade union Genel-Is, it said that Izelman workers decided to go on the street demanding a collective agreement for a human life. The workers shouted the slogans "No to 4/b!", "No to poverty and injustice", "For a collective wage agreement for a human life" and " No charity, but collective agreement".
