Education labourers take the streets

 The education labourers stopped work on 24 April in order to protest the circular of the Ministry of National Education about the wages for extra-hours. The labourers got letters of referral, left the classes and took the streets. This action achieved to highly affect the education process. The Ministry of National Education responded this action by threatening the labourers with opening a legal proceeding against them.
Thousands of education labourers took the streets in Ankara, Istanbul, Antep, Bursa, Malatya and other cities.
 Abdullah Dincer, General President of Egitim-Sen made a speech at the action in Ankara in front of the Ministry of National Education. He expressed that the last changes in the circular about the wages for extra-hours do not solve the problems of the education labourers and the problems get even worse and he said: "A racist and reactionary blockade is being carried out in education."
At the action in Sultanahmet in Istanbul, Ismail Hakki Tombul, General President of KESK called for the Mayday celebration in Taksim.
