The textile workers' union Tekstil-Sen and the dockyard workers' union Limter-Is continue their activities with the demand that Ayse Yumli Yeter, General President of Tekstil-Sen, Cem Dinc, General President, and Zafer Tektas, General Secretary of Limter-Is, who were imprisoned in September as a result of the state terror based on the Anti-terror Law should be released.
Tekstil-Sen organised a theatre show on 8 April in Sisli/Istanbul for solidarity with the union leaders in prison. 200 textile workers who participated at the activity expressed that they will be in front of the Court of Besiktas on 13 April in order to defend their union and they will be in Taksim/Istanbul on May Day on the 30th anniversary of the massacre of 1 May 1977.
On 10 April, Tekstil-Sen and Limter-Is made a street action at the Galatasaray Square in Istanbul and sent the signatures that they had collected to the Ministry of Justice. The workers carried a banner written "We will be in Besiktas on 13 April and in Taksim on May Day for freedom, justice and equality!"
