In January, Ministry of Justice had issued a circular on the use of the common spaces at F-Type isolation prisons as a step-back in the state's policy of cell-isolation. With the circular, it had been possible for the revolutionary prisoners to come together 10 hours a week without accepting any imposition of the administration. The reaction of the revolutionary prisoners and their families grows in face of the fact that the circular of the Ministry is not being put in practice and that this step-back made because of the struggle against isolation is being tried to be made practically invalid.
Since this right of the prisoners is being violated at F-Type Prison No.1 and No.2 in Tekirdag under arbitrary pretexts such as the lack of security or the insufficiency of the number of the personnel, the revolutionary prisoners at this prison have decided not to use the common spaces as long as the circular is not put in practice. The revolutionary prisoners also called upon the revolutionary and democratic people to show concern at this issue.
League of the Prisoners' Families (TUYAB) made a street action on 31 March in Taksim/Istanbul. The families from TUYAB opened a banner written "Stop isolation! The demands should be accepted!/TUYAB". They demanded that the disciplinary punishments at the prisons should be cancelled, independent observation committees should be formed, the prisoners who suffer serious health problems should be released and the use of all the rights of the prisoners should be provided unconditionally. They told the following at the action: "Those who exploit our labour for years also tried to steal our dreams but they were not able to steal our ideals and our honour. Our struggle for which we accept the risk of all attacks and costs is what makes us who we are; it is the pretext of our existence. The struggle of the revolutionary prisoners at many costs against those who try to weaken this essential point is the struggle of being humans."
