Textile workers who work at the Free Zone of Mersin went on a strike on 17 March, demanding the increase of the wages for extra hours, the full payment of the insurance premiums, the end of the verbal assaults and abuses against the workers, immediate measures for labour security and the payment of the salaries on time. The strike continued for one week and most of the bosses in the zone accepted the demands of the workers. Following this, most of the workers began to work again. But 500 workers were not accepted back to work. Now, these workers are preparing for a legal process against the bosses at the Labour Court.
