On the 12th anniversary of the Gazi Massacre, thousands of labourers asked account from the counter-guerrilla state through organising actions in the Gazi Graveyard and in many cities of Turkey/N. Kurdistan. The fascist Turkish state had opened fired on a cafe in Gazi -a labourers' district in Istanbul- in 1995 and as a result of this provocation, a local uprising had surged in Gazi. 23 labourers were killed by the state at the barricades where the uprising lasted for a week.
Under the intense blockade, arbitrary interventions and the siege of the police supported by helicopters all over the district, revolutionaries, anti-fascist youth, labourers and workers of Gazi marched from Eski Karakol Duragi towards Cemevi and Gazi Graveyard, while the small shopkeepers of the district closed down their shops responding the call of the revolutionary forces.
3000 labourers participated at the demonstration under the banners of different revolutionary organisations. The most crowded columns were those of HÖC (Front for Rights and Freedoms), ESP (Socialist Platform of the Oppressed), DTP (Party of Democratic Society) and DHP (Platform for Democratic Rights), while all the organisations except for HÖC participated in the action behind a common banner written "Long Live Revolutionary Solidarity!".
ESP opened a banner written "The responsible of the massacres in Maras , Sivas, Gazi, Semdinli and of the murder of Hrant Dink is the counter-guerrilla state!" whereas the photographs of Hasan Ocak, the Gazi Commander and of the Martyrs of Gazi were carried.
The organisations which came together behind the banner "Long Live Revolutionary Solidarity!" made a common commemoration at the graveyard around the graves of the Martyrs of Gazi, Dilek Simsek, Zeynep Poyraz, Sezgin Engin, Hasan Gürgen and Hasan Ocak. Speeches were made here to call upon everybody to ask account for the Gazi Massacre.
Our party MLCP and our youth organisation KGÖ also took place in the demonstration with their banners and red foulards. The militants of our party opened a banner written "The massacrer of Gazi is the counter-guerrilla. We will crush it!" and by shouting the slogan "Hasan Ocak is alive; thousand salutes to the Commander!", they saluted our comrade Hasan Ocak who was kidnapped by the state after the Gazi Uprising and was killed under torture.
The Gazi Massacre was also protested in Ankara, Adana, Bursa, Izmit and other cities through actions.
ESP, Partizan, HÖC and B DSP made an action in Bursa under the banner "We have not forgotten the massacres in Gazi, Beyazit and Halepce , we will ask account for them!"
In the district Tuzlucayir in Ankara, the revolutionaries made an action with torches under the slogan "We have not forgotten the Gazi Massacre; we will not let it be forgotten! The murderer state will pay account!"
In Kocaeli, after a call made by ESP different organisations came together and made an action about the massacres in Gazi, Beyazit and Halepce.
In the district Gulsuyu in Istanbul, revolutionary and democratic organisations made a march with torches to call for struggle against the counter-guerrilla state. 300 labourers participated in this action.
