Socialist Platform of the Oppressed ( ESP ) made a demonstration in Ankara on 29 January with the demand that the responsible of the murder of Mustafa Suphi , Sabahattin Ali, Bahriye Üçok, Musa Anter, Vedat Aydın, Hrant Dink and many other intellectuals should be found and brought to justice.
Approximately 250 activists of ESP coming from Istanbul, Izmir, Bursa, Izmit, Eskişehir, Antep, Malatya, Amed, Erzurum and Sivas gathered in front of Kizilay YKM and they wanted to march towards the Ministry of Justice. After they were hindered by the police forces, the ESP activists continued their action in Kizilay YKM.
The ESP activists reminded the murder of numerous intellectuals in the history of the fascist dictatorship and expressed that it is the state itself who stands behind the murders.
They also demanded the resignation of Cemil Cicek, Minister of Justice who is responsible for the 301st article of the Turkish Penal Code which aims at putting the intellectuals in silence; of Abdulkadir Aksu, Minister of Internal Affairs who has commented the lynch attempts as "citizenship reflexes"; of Celalettin Cerrah, General Police Chief for Istanbul and Muammer Guler, Governer of Istanbul.
They also stated that the murders by the counter-guerrilla should not be covered up, the real responsibles should be brought into light, the Anti-terror law and the 301st article of Turkish Penal Code, which are the laws of censor and repression should be cancelled.
In the action, the banner "Long live the fraternity of the Turkish, Kurdish and Armenian peoples!" was opened and the following slogans were shouted: "Resignation of the Minister of Justice!", "Anti-terror Law should be cancelled!", "301st article should be cancelled!", "All we are Armenians, all we are Kurds!", "Genocider state! Accept the genocide!" and "Murderer state will pay account!".
The ESp activists also organised a street-sale of the newspaper Agos, of which Hrant Dink was the chief editor and the last issue of the newspaper Atilim, which was exposed to raid and arrestment attack in September together with ESP. The last Issue of Atilim carries the headline "All we are Hrant, all we are Armenians!".
