ESP (Socialist Platform of the Oppressed) made a statement on the execution of Saddam last week. ESP expressed the following in its statement: "The execution of Saddam is a part of the policy of making the peoples massacre each other. There is no doubt that Saddam has committed crimes against humanity, but who let him commit these crimes is the USA itself. The US imperialism cannot speak about the crimes of Saddam. The judgement of Saddam by the US imperialism is not legitimate. The execution of him by US imperialism is not legitimate and just. It is only the Iraqi people who have the right to judge Saddam and to decide what the punishment will be. The right of this decision belongs to the Iraqi people. Those who are pleased with the execution of Saddam are making a great mistake. They are not aware of that the US imperialism plans to cause dark years for them. The peoples of Iraq can reach freedom and democracy only if they increase the fraternity and solidarity and fight until expulsing the occupiers from Iraq.
