On 26 December at the Dolmabahce Palace, Bulent Arinc, President of the Turkish National Congress (TBMM) made a meeting with the delegation against isolation, which consists of the family members of Behic Asci who is on a death fast against isolation and human rights defensors. Fazilet Erdogan, Behic Asci's mother, Naime Emlik, aunt of Behic Asci, Husnu Tuna, president of the Contemporary Lawyers' Association, Hulya Sekerci, general president of Ozgur-Der, Sinasi Haznedar, vice-president of Mazlum-Der and Dogan Genc, regional representative of the IHD (Human Rights Association) in Marmara participated in the delegation. Bulent Arinc made statement to the press before the meeting, expressing that ‘Lawyer Behic Asci has shown a sensibility and determination about an important problem of Turkey", that "the cell-system creates problems in people's psychological health" and that "it is possible to make some improvements about the conditions in F-Type prisons ". Arinc also told that Asci should give up the death fast for the steps about this issue to be taken.
Behic Asci evaluated Bulent Arinc's words as "a humanly initiative" while he made the following consideration: "The responsible for the solution of isolation problem is the Minister of Justice. What Arinc has said is undoubtedly important for us. But many people have been speaking about improvements for three months without telling any concrete word about what these improvements will be. They had said that they had organised 19 December (the prison massacre on 19 December 2000 -t.n.) and constructed the F-Types for improvement. It is possible again that they could organise a new violation of rights under the name of improvement" and he stated that he could give up the death fast only after the Minister of Justice suggests a concrete formulation on the issue of isolation.
Meanwhile, Cemil Cicek, Minister of Justice criticised the words of Bulent Arinc and continued defending the isolation in prisons.
On the other hand, the leaders of the Education Labourers' Union, The Platform of Istanbul Branches of KESK , members of the leadership of Istanbul Branch of IHD and the central leadership visited Lawyer Behic Asci to him give their support.
