After the attacks of the civil fascists in the universities of Ankara, Izmir and many other cities, new attacks have been organised in the recent period. The high support and protection of the civil fascists by the state forces is a characteristic of these attacks.
On 19 December , the civil fascists attacked at the revolutionary, democrat and Kurdish patriot students in Mersin University and wounded many students. As a respond, the antifascist students punished one fascist by beating him and exposed his knife to the press on 20 December. 500 antifascist students who started a march after this action were attacked by the police. The students responded the police attack with gas bombs by throwing stones to the police. 65 students were taken under custody and the civil fascists left the university under the protection of the police.
The arrested students were taken to the court after being kept under police custody for three days and 12 of them, Burkay Savasci, Mehmet Dahaoglu, Volkan Gultekin, Erhan Ekinci, Baran Bozkurt, Tarik Guler, Ali Osman Adiguzel, Sami Atici, Serkan Sagir, Ugur Karadana, Orhan Atici and Kahraman Ay were sent to Mersin E-Type prison while the others were released. A search warrant was made for ten more students who had not been taken under custody.
At the Uludag University in Bursa, the civil fascists attacked a revolutionary student on 19 December and wounded him. After this event, the revolutionary students punished 4 fascists. The respond of the gendarmery to this was an attack on the anti-fascist students and the arrestment of 4 students. More than 100 students came together in front of the gendarmery station inside the faculty to defend their arrested friends. After the release of the 4 students, they left the school together, as protection from the fascist attacks. But the fascists again attacked on the students. The conflicts continued also in the city centre.
