 Students, education labourers and parents have protested the YOK (Higher Education Board) on 6 November, the founding anniversary date of YOK, in the cities such as Istanbul, Izmir, Balikesir, Canakkale, Bursa, Antakya, Adana, Malatya and Ankara.
During the actions organised by students of universities and high schools in Istanbul, "We are uprising against the imperialist war and paid-education" and "we are claiming for our future against OSS and paid-education" banners were opened. In their statement, the students said that today thousands of students are shouting "Another world, another university is possible" against the YOK system. The action was ended with the following slogans: "Investigation of students must be withdrawn", "The rector, enemy of the students, must be resigned", "We will not be an unemployed with qualifications". Later, Egitim-Sen Union has also demanded the end of anti-democratic and reactionary practices, by making a press meeting in the same place.
 Action by high school students
On the other hand, students from SGD , ODAK, DGH, YDG, AOLG and Ozgur Lise, who gathered in front of the Istanbul Sarigazi Mehmetcik High School, have marched to the Democracy Street behind a banner "We want equal, free, scientific and mother-tongue education". In the march, the students shouted "we do not want F-type universities", "no to CCTVs in high schools" and "OSS must be abolished, YOK must be dissolved". In the statement made on behalf of the students, it was said: "We, as the high school students, will continue until the end with our struggle in organised way to achieve rights against the YOK, which is imposed on us by the state".
Police attacked at the demonstrations
On the other hand, police attacked at the demonstration in Ankara and Trabzon and took 66 students under custody. The students resisted the police for a long time.
