In Italy, on 6 October 2006, CARC (Committees to Support Resistance- for Communism) held a meeting with the topic of "Repression against revolutionaries, socialists and their institutions in Turkey - What can be done?" against detention terror, organised in collaboration of Turkish state and imperialism throughout Turkey and Northern Kurdistan. In the meeting, Marco Proietti, representative of CARC condemned the detention attacks on the revolutionaries and socialists. Proietti announced that CARC will expand the campaign for freedom of imprisoned people both in Italy and on the international arena.
The speaker on behalf of the Marxist Leninist Communists said: "These attacks target whole revolutionaries. The fascist dictatorship, which follows a denial and annihilation policy against the Kurdish national movement, also wants to be tied to the war vehicle of the USA imperialism. This is why it attacks mercilessly".
The meeting ended with the following decisions on what shall be done:

  1. Making radio programmes, denouncing the attacks and arrests
  2. Holding a demonstration in front of the Turkish embassy in Roma, also on the first day of trials of the imprisoned people.
  3. Collecting signatures from revolutionary, progressive institutions and foundations to support the people and institutions which have been attacked in Turkey/N. Kurdistan.
  4. Supporting Atilim newspaper with articles
  5. Expanding the campaign, which is started by Atilim newspaper among the intellectuals, to the Italian intellectuals and former partisans
  6. Sending delegations to the trials of imprisoned people
