Torture of Political Prisoners in F-Type Prisons

68 revolutionary and communists, who were imprisoned following the attacks on 8 and 21 September, have announced through their lawyers that they have been tortured during their transferring to the F-Type prisons .
The revolutionary and communists who were taken into custody and imprisoned on 8 September, including the Chief Editor of Atilim Newspaper, Ibrahim Cicek and some columnists of the paper, were wanted to be searched without any clothes when they were taken to the Tekirdag No.2 F-Type Prison. The revolutionaries, who did not accept this treatment, are tortured by the prison guards. Under the same pretext, the revolutionary prisoners are also being given penalty of not seeing their visitors for 1 month period and not writing-receiving letter for 45 days.
 Halil Dinc (News Editor of Ozgur Radio), Emin Orhan (Editor of Dayanisma Paper), Cem Dinc (General President of Limter-Is Union), Zafer Tektas (General Secretary of Limter-Is Union), Yusuf Demir, Sinan Gercek, Ali Haydar Keles and Ozcan Dilekli, those who were imprisoned after the police raid and detention attack on the revolutionary and socialists newspapers and democratic institutions on 21 September, were also attacked by the guards because of not accepting the naked search when they were transferred to the same prison, Tekirdag No.2 F-Type Prison.
Erdal Demirhan, who was imprisoned following the raids on 21 September, is also tortured by the prison guards in Izmir Kiriklar No.2 F-Type Prison because of opposing the searching of his cell four times in a day.
Arzu Mazi and Diren Yildiz, who are the members of the Labourer Women's Association and were put into the Adana Kurkculer Prison following the police raid to their association, are being put into solitary confinement because of not accepting to see their visitors while wearing an ID on which writes "terrorist". Thereafter they started hunger strike.
And in Sincan Closed Prison for Women, the political prisoners called Arzu Ceylan Sabo and Seval Gundogdu, are on hunger strike since September 30, to protest their transfer to the solitary confinement after their demand to go to hospital was refused.
