DISK declaration in support of the Limter-Is Union

On 7 October, the Confederation of Revolutionary Workers' Unions ( DISK ) have protested the attacks on the Limter-Is union by organising a press meeting in the central office of Limter-Is.
The deputy of DISK General President, Adnan Serdaroglu, who read out the press statement, stated that the attacks on Limter-Is target the front of labour as a whole, that Limter-Is struggles for democracy in order to use and defend workers' rights that have been defined with the laws and achieved through struggle and that state do not show tolerance to the unions which conducts democratic struggle.
The meeting which was also supported by various unions such as the Birlesik Metal-Is , Nakliyat-Is , Basin-Is , Dev Maden-Sen, Tum Ka-Is, Deri-Is , TUMTIS and Egitim-Sen , ended with the following words: "the attacks will not intimidate DISK and all other affiliated unions".
Limter-Is Union, affiliated to DISK, was raided on 21 September, its computers and other office materials were seized by the police and the General President Cem Dinc and General Secretary Zafer Tektas were imprisoned.
