Following the panels in Paris on 9 September, in London on 16 September and in Berlin on 23 September, the Middle East Anti-imperialist Struggle Coordination has organised another one in Brussels on 30 September, under the motto "The Middle East, Occupation and Anti-imperialist Coordination".
Beside the People's Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and our party, MLCP -both of them are the components of the coordination- the patriots from Kurdistan, Marxist Leninist Communist Group (GC/ML) from Morocco, the League of Arab Progressive Youth (UJPA) and Bloc ML from Belgium were present in the panel as invited guests.
The panel, where there was opened a banner "Resistance will win in Middle East", begun with one minute of silence in commemoration of the ones who were martyred in the fight for revolution and in the anti-imperialist struggle.
The first speaker, PFLP representative said: "In order to overcome its structural crises at home and to set its superiority over the rival imperialists by taking the advantage of the new world balance that was disturbed after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the USA follows an aggressive strategy towards Caucasus and Middle East, the two main regions where the energy resources -vital for the imperialist system- are situated". He stated that the imperialist project, which is called "Greater Middle East Project", in essence, is an attempt to create grounds of the aggressive strategy. PFLP representative ended his speech by the following words: "After the resistance in Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine, the Lebanon resistance has also put imperialist aggression into difficulty of reaching its aims. However, under the conditions where there is a lack of united anti-imperialist struggle, the imperialists may reach their fore-mentioned goals. It is very difficult to create united struggle, but inevitable at the same time."
After the PLFP representative, our party, MLCP, representative spoke. By evaluating the course of the inter-imperialist relations and contradictions following the collapse of the Soviet Bloc, he said that the Balkans, Middle East and Caucasus are the first regions where the inter-imperialist contradictions are being intensified. After saying "It is a necessity for the socialists and the oppressed peoples to challenge with the changes and developments in Balkans, Caucasus and Middle East through a common resistance", the representative talked on the purpose of the foundation of the Middle East Anti-imperialist Struggle Coordination.
Our representative, who also discussed on the illusions within the anti-imperialist struggle, drew attentions on the imperialists' try to show all anti-imperialist and anti-occupation fight in the Middle East as the "war of religions" to the wide masses.
In the lively question-answer part of the panel, there took place discussions particularly on the Kurdistan question in relation to the new balances occurred following the occupation of Iraq.
