On 27 September, the socialist pres institutions, unions and democratic mass organisations, which were raided at the same on 21 September by the decision of Istanbul 14th Heavy Penal Court, went to court against the Istanbul Headquarters of Police.
In the statement made on behalf of the institutions in front of the building of the Head of Istanbul, it was said "the cut of Ozgur Radio's broadcasting without a RTUK (Higher Board for Radio Television) decision, the raid of Atilim Newspaper and other institutions and the detention of their workers is an intervention against the labourer peoples right to reach news, freedom of press and expression". The action, which was supported by SDP , EMEP , EHP and Egitim-Sen No 5 Branch, ended with the representatives of institutions going to the Sultanahmet Court against the Istanbul Headquarters of the Police and the police officers those who were on duty during the searches.
On the other hand, the unions affiliated to the DISK , KESK and Turk-Is have asked for solidarity for the institutions which were raided on 21 September.
The President of Belediye-Is Union Istanbul No 2 Branch, Hasan Gulum, who read-out the statement on behalf of all unions, said that, through these implementations, they are trying put in silence the voice of labourers. Istanbul Branches of Belediye-Is Union, Central Office of the Nakliyat-Is Union, Istanbul Branch of the Haber-Is Union, Tuzla Branch of the Deri-Is Union, Tum Bel-Sen Union Branches No 1 and No 5 and the Istanbul No 1 Branch of the Yol-Is Unions were also among the unions which signed the joint statement.
Through a statement made on the same day, the General Secretary of DISK, Musa Cam, has also protested the police raid against the Limter-Is Union on 21 September and the imprisonment of the President and General Secretary of Limter-Is. In his statement, Cam has demanded the release of the union's directors and full return of the union documents, which were seized during the raid.
Again, the youth organisations affiliated with various party and mass organisations have protested the arrests that started on 21 September and still continue, by coming together in the Egitim-Sen Kayseri Branch. In the joint statement made on behalf of the institutions, it was said that they want to show democratic mass organisations as illegal through these raids. The immediate release of the Balikesir Socialist Youth Association, Ugur Ok, who was imprisoned on 27 September, was also demanded by the participants of the action supported by ESP , B DSP , TKP and EMEK Youth.
