Workers are determined to win

In recent months, February and March, the capital's attacks against the working class have continued intensively in the forms of privatization, kick-outs and making working conditions harder. But, the workers are not bowing their heads to these attacks and are resisting in order to defend their rights and workplaces by using many methods of struggle, including strikes. Here are some of their resistances:

The Ayser sock workers, who are organized in the TEK-S8BF trade-union, have gone to strike on 17th of February when their working hours increased to 12-hours, wages being cut and not paid on time and their services abolished by the bosses. The boss later have sent 27 of the workers to the street. The workers, who started to resist in front of the workplace, have shown their commitment in success by saying "soon or later we will win".

On 1st of March, 101 workers have been kicked out from their works at 8Bzmir-PETK8BM Selling Department. Upon the attitude of the bosses, 1500 PETK8BM workers have responded by stopping production. Another 400 workers also were thrown out from their works in the recent months. The organized workers in the Petrol-Is trade-union have stopped the production and the distribution of goods from the factory in order to protest the kick-outs.

The workers, who have been increasing their struggle against the attacks since the start of debate on Basic Law on Public Management (BLPM), gave their most strong response to the government of AKP , the enemy of labor, via demonstration that they organized on 6th of March in Ankara. The demonstration was attended by more than 100 thousand people from trade-unions such as TFCrk-8BBE, D8BSK, KESK , from political parties such as TKP, D6DP, EMEP , SDP , DEHAP and from revolutionary movements such as ESP , Revolutionary Youth Movement and Peoples Houses. Throughout the demonstration, the laborers have shown their angers through slogans such as "Free Education, Free Health", "Withdraw the Slavery Law" and "Workers and Public Workers Bring Your Hands Together in General Strike". The Socialist Platform of the Oppressed (ESP) opened a banner saying "The Basic Law of Public Management Must Be Withdrawn". The activist of ESP, those who carried cell scale model of the BLPM, have also got interest from the laborers through their sketch that they played with the vampire puppet of the prime minister Erdogan. The people from ESP, which called workers to go on strike through their agitation and represented one of the lively groups in the demo, burned the BLPM cell-model together with the laborers at the end of the demonstration. People of ESP have also pulled attentions on the question of isolation in prisons.

On 10-11 March, the health workers warned the government through two-days of strike in hospitals in order to demand equal, free health services and work guarantee with collective wage agreement and right to strike against the Program of Changes in Health that is part of the Basic Law of Public Management.

The strike decision of the Lastik-Is trade-union, registered to D8BSK, has been postponed by the Council of Ministers under the pretext of "harming the national security". The strike decision of the trade-union was taken because of disturbance in the collective talks at the Goodyear, Pirelli and Brisa companies in 8Bzmit, and was supposed to be started on 22 March. The workers of Goodyear and Brisa, who shown their reaction against the de facto prohibition of the strike under the name of postponement, blocked the 8Bzmit D-100 Motorway on the morning of 22 March in order to protest the decision of the Council of Ministers.

53 workers from the Bursa Gramer Still Factory, which exports parts to the Mercedes and Mann factories, have been taken out of their works because all in all 700 worker became organized in the Birlesik Metal-Is trade-union. Later, the workers start to resist in front of the factory. The President of Bursa Branch of BirleBEik Metal-8BBE trade-union, Mehmet K9Bl9BE7 said; "About 25 thousand workers are working in the Bursa Demirciler Industrial Site without being member of the trade-union. We want to be a good alternative and hope for these workers by succeeding in getting organized in the Gramer Factory. For that reason, we are not going to leave the front of the factory and going to definitely win the organization that is our right".

When there was no agreement at the collective talks, the workers in Arsan Textile, which is established in MaraBE, decided to go on strike and the bosses decided a lockout.

The MLCP, which also applies to revolutionary warning actions together with the struggle to enlighten and organize the workers against the capital's privatization attacks, has bombed the building of Zorlu Holding in Istanbul-Avc9Blar against the privatization of TDCPRABD. In the statement regarding the bombing, MLCP said: "All institutions of the Zorlu Group will be on our target until the stop of selling of TDCPRABD. The privatizations, in line with the imperialist neo-liberal policies, are also continuing in our country at highest speed. These privatizations, of course, for us, mean unemployment, hunger, poverty, misery, illness, illiteracy of our children and, shortly, slavery! But, for those who are plundering, looting the K8BTs (Public Economy Institutions), they mean richness, prosperity, profit and more profit! In line with these policies, the TDCPRABD has been sold to Zorlu-Eframov group. We know that the leadership of the Zorlu Group deserves for ages to be called as the 'enemy of people'".
